Utplassering Dag 4 (In English)
Today's blog is also going to be in English because of the English task.I arrived at work 07:50 AM which is 10 minutes early.
As always I said hello to everyone, then I went to try to get something done.
In the end there was not much to do, so I continued the process of watching the OneNote videos.
After getting to 65% finished with the OneNote videos, I had to take a break. So I went to "fix" some computers by using the OSD (Operating System Deployment, Tanking på Norsk) So while doing that I just asked Kai some general questions about the Computer he just finished building. After that Sveinung basically asked me if I wanted to help with the paper everywhere in the office, so I said yes and helped him a bit.
A little later Alexander gave me a paper with some instructions on how to install some stuff that improves the Raspberry Pi on some different things. I looked at the paper for about 5 minutes before actually understanding it, and started getting into it slowly, but surely. I watched a video that lasted about 15 minutes to get a better understanding of it, but the problem was that it was in German. I ended up getting absolutely nothing out of it, so it was a complete waste of time to be honest. Some time later I ended up actually typing in the commands, but I couldn't save, so I had to wait for Alexander to come help me. He went over and showed me how to do it, and I got it done after a few minutes later. While I was doing this I also got to continue doign the OSD (Operating System Deployment, Tanking på Norsk) (I should probably mention this as well, what I said about the Raspberry Pi yesterday, was wrong. It actually is a computer that works very well to what purpose it is supposed to serve. Oh and another good thing about it is that it is a great learning tool for people who are willing to learn Programming, and it's cheap as well.)
Just as I was finished working with the Raspberry Pi, Sveinung and David said that I should come to Risersletta with them, so I went with them. We ended up testing a lot of cables, what cable was connected to what. We used a wireless device which was connected to a cable tester. The cable tester was always beeping when there was no signal, or not 2 cables connected at the same time, therefore it was "easy" to find what was connected to what. We went to find one of the managers there and ended up finding Heidi, she explained what she needed help with and we went to work. At the end of the day we managed to put up three possible phone lines and to fix two computer which had no internet connection. (Well, people couldn't connect to the internet, and some users couldn't log in as well)
